Vintage Portraits – Gallery Updates

Following my last post, the Fanciful Impressions Gallery has been updated with some of my latest vintage portraits that I would like to share with all of my readers. To capture the era of the Industrial Revolution, I dressed my model in a thick linen button up to resemble the textiles that would have been worn by the working class during this period. To authenticate the photos I used makeup to intensify the look; to make the eyes look heavy and tired and to give my model a glistening but pale complexion. Hair was parted straight down the middle and I used a lot of gel to make the hair look moistened and flattened to the model’s head. Though the story written for this look was not shared with the model, once my subject was in full costume and makeup he definitely captured the emotion that was needed to make this innovative but unjust era come to life with digital photography.
